Visual Art Camps
Not just about drawing and painting. You may learn printmaking, make a book, create cartoons, or build sculptures. Messy Art is quite popular and is the perfect "not-in-my-house activity" for summer camp.
With Cornelius PARC you can take cartooning, mixed media, drawing and painting.
Davidson Day offers STEAM camps and pop art.
The Town of Davidson takes you on an Around the World Art Tour and does Mixed Media with an NC Twist.
Discovery Place Kids and the YMCA also host art camps.
This is a hodge-podge category with a lot of unique options.
Cornelius PARC has Fun with Fabrics, Jewelry Galore, and Printing & Stamping Boutique.
At Davidson Day you can build models, and Latta Plantation teaches historical pioneer crafts.
Pine Lake Prep offers Nature Crafts and the Town of Davidson has multiple DIY sessions.
Film & Photography Camps
Two specialty options here:
3D Computer Modeling and Animation at Pine Lake Prep and Flight & Aerial Photography at Davidson Day.
GCAPA has tons of movie-themed camps for the younger set: Trolls, Leap, Descendants, and more.

Be a Broadway Kid or participate in Fairy Tale Theater at GCAPA.
Cornelius PARC has Comedy and Improv and Improvised Shakespeare.
For musical theatre look at Pine Lake Prep and Davidson Community Players (sign up through the Town of Davidson).
