Visual Art Camps

Not just about drawing and painting. You may learn printmaking, make a book, create cartoons, or build sculptures. Some sessions incorporate nature, drama, and even food. Messy Art is quite popular and is the perfect "not-in-my-house activity" for summer camp.

The Asheville Art Museum has camps for all ages, including a high school Drawing, Working with Line session.

Have fun with comic books at Carolina Day School or explore art in nature at the N.C. Arboretum.

M's School of Art offers a Fiber Art Camp. You can also get icky and sticky at Carolina Day School or explore crafts at Hangar Hall, the NC Arboretum, and Emmanuel Lutheran School.

Pottery Camps

M's School of Art and the Transylvania Community Arts Council offer multiple weeks of pottery or clay camps. 

Odessey Clayworks has a lot of great themes, including Harry Potter Pottery, Magical Nature, and wheel throwing camps.

Film & Photography Camps

The Asheville School of Film offers a 2-week program for ages 13 and up. Artspace Charter School teaches Moviemaking 101 to 5th-9th graders.

You can take digital photography at the Transylvania Community Arts Council or Alternative Photography at the Asheville Art Museum. Carolina Day School also has a photography camp.
